Overview

Enoteca 50 is a boutique wine shop in the heart of Turin. The goal of this project was to create a digital presence that reflects the refined, vintage-meets-modern identity of the physical store. The website needed to start as a high-end showcase, with the flexibility to grow into a full e-commerce platform in the future.

This was a brand-new design built from the ground up. The client wanted to attract local wine lovers and seasoned connoisseurs by highlighting not just the bottles, but the personality, care, and expertise behind every selection.

Design approach

I aimed for a digital atmosphere as rich as a Barolo: smooth, layered, and full of character. The style blends elegant typography, moody backgrounds, and subtly humorous copy. It stays professional, with a little sparkle in the right places.

The mobile-first layout focuses on large, high-quality photos and clear storytelling. The design guides visitors through the site like a skilled sommelier, leading them through a tasting experience.

Challenges and Highlights

One of the main challenges was creating the feel of an e-commerce experience without actually including any e-commerce features. The design had to guide users through curated selections and recommendations, while still keeping the feel of a small neighborhood shop.

Another fun twist? The client sent me a batch of wine bottle photos — no names, no descriptions, no labels saying whether it was red, white, or bubbles. Which wouldn’t be a problem… if I drank. But I’m a teetotaler. So naturally, I spent the next few days on a crash course in oenology, zooming in on corks, decoding regional labels, and learning to identify grape varieties like a digital Sherlock Holmes of wine. Not bad for someone who orders sparkling water with dinner.

Highlights and what I am proud of

The result is a clean and atmospheric interface with subtle vintage illustrations etched into the backgrounds. These details give the site a tactile, layered feel that matches the real-life shop.

Despite budget constraints, the final site delivers a strong identity and smooth user experience that is both charming and ready for future growth.

TL;DR

  • Custom web design with Elementor: warm tones, sophisticated fonts, and generous spacing that mirrors the in-store experience.
  • Connections: creation of social media profiles for the owner
  • Informative: simple, intuitive, and filled with information for wine lovers, even on mobile.
  • Copywriting: clear, engaging product and page content that reflects the personality of the brand.
  • Client training: I guided the team through managing their website independently, from updating products to publishing content on social medias.
  • Mobile-first design that works beautifully on every screen
  • Smooth flow with a homely feel, the customers are now part of the family
  • Strong brand identity woven into every element of the site

The Result

A digital showcase and future storefront that brings Enoteca 50’s unique vibe online, inviting visitors not just to browse, but to feel like they’re already enjoying a glass of wine.
